SimpList ("we", "our", "us") is a collaborative list-making application for iOS. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use our app and services.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following information to provide and improve our services:
- Account information: Name, email address, and profile photo (optional, stored in Firebase Storage)
- List data: Lists you create, items you add, notes, and collaboration activity (including who added or completed items)
- Authentication data: Credentials via email/password, Sign in with Apple, or Google Sign-In
- Device information: Push notification tokens (FCM) for delivering notifications
- App preferences: Theme, accent color, and display settings stored locally on your device
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account
- To sync lists across devices and between users
- To send push notifications about list activity
- To display your name and photo to collaborators on shared lists
4. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services:
- Firebase (Google): Authentication, database (Firestore), file storage, cloud functions, and push notifications (FCM)
- Apple Sign-In: Optional authentication method
- Google Sign-In: Optional authentication method

5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, trade, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. We do not display any ads in the app.
Your name, profile photo, and list activity are visible only to members of lists you have joined.
6. Data Retention & Deletion
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the app settings. When you delete your account:
- All lists you own and their contents (items, history) are permanently deleted
- Your activity history is removed from shared lists you participated in
- You are removed from all shared lists
- Your profile data (name, email) and profile photo are permanently deleted
- Your authentication credentials are removed
- Locally cached data (profile photo, preferences) is cleared from your device

7. Data Security
We use industry-standard security measures provided by Firebase and Apple to protect your data. All data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
8. Children's Privacy
SimpList is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes through the app or by updating the date at the top of this page.
